Bergen based Leiv Reed started out his musical journey busking the streets of Europe, developing a distinctive guitar and singing technique. With roots in the British and American neo-folk of the 60s, Leiv has developed a sound at times reminiscent of Elliott Smith, Will Oldham and Mark Kozelek alias Sun Kil Moon. Reed has toured as a busker, hobo, and also as band musician with St. Thomas relatives Ai Phoenix on their last tour of Europe. His 2008 hit Lazy, hailed by Datarock frontman Fredrik Saroea, was produced by Ai Phoenix/St.Thomas man Robert Jønnum. Reed also featured together with Thomas’ old band Bjørkhaug 49′ers in a reinterpretation of Thomas’ heartbreaking Surfers Morning.
